Thistle and Tansy, the Bird Riders cloth doll pattern hcs

Tansy, a girl, and Thistle, a boy, are cloth doll elves sewn to cloth birds. The dolls on the birds are 9" and the birds have a wing span of 15".
The dolls have needle scuplted noses and painted faces. I used scraps of fake fur for their hair. The leg pattern is designed in a bent position so they are easier to sew to the birds. There is no straight leg.
The birds and dolls are made using cotton fabrics with embellishments. The dolls are small and are best made with tiny prints but the birds are great made from large prints. I used a Bali floral batik for the blue bird and fabric with large feathers printed on it for the other.
The birds have wire in their wings and tails. The legs are also wire but they can't stand on them. Display them flying by adding a long loop of clear thread to the birds or have the bird laying with the legs tucked back or skip the legs.
The directions are printed book style on 24 lb. paper printed on both sides. There are color photos, line drawings, and plenty of hints to help you. The cover comes with a color photograph glued to it. There are 5 pages of full size patterns. Each pattern comes in a zip closed plastic bag.
