Aurora and Serena , Mermaids with Cloth Seashells, also a pdf epattern, pm
Have fun making and decorating your own mermaids to display hanging or sitting tucked into seashells. Make the cloth clam shell to display the mermaid sitting in it! They can be sewn or pinned into a sitting postion or left straight for hanging.
These mermaids are 12" from the top of their heads to the tip of their tails. Have fun decorating them with pearls, sequins, tiny seashells, glitter, charms, and more.
The brunette mermaid, Serena, has wavy wool for her hair. The blonde, Aurora, has mini acrylic curls. Like the dolls but not the hair? Buy one of my other patterns to get the great oven baked curls that can be used instead of the mini acrylic curls. Their noses are needle sculpted and their features are painted.
They are decorated with real tiny seashells and pearls. The pearls are pearls-by-the-yard. Use them to make the coiled bra top on Aurora. Serena has a bra type top that is stuffed for shaping.
There are patterns for the clam shell and the scallop shell, too. Both shells have wires sewn to them so they will keep their shape.
Quilter's quarters are perfect for making the dolls and shells. I used a Bali batik for the mermaid's tails and swimsuits tops. The seashells are made from hand dyed fabrics. I dyed the pink fabric used on the inside of the clamshell!
The directions are printed book style with on 24 lb. paper, printed on both sides. There are plenty of hints, drawings, and color photos so it will be easier for you to make the dolls. Each comes with a color picture on the cover, full size patterns, and comes in a zip closed bag.
