This mat is easily made by the beginning stitcher from re-claimed or new wool or wool felt.
GREAT ANYTIME OF THE YEAR!
The mat finishes to 11" square.
The design is mounted on black wool with10 colorful petals of wool to comprise the "plate". I added a large penny circle of wool in the center with smaller circles on top. The corners feature a "fan" shape with tiny penny circles at the points. Finally I added a heavy re-claimed wool backing that extends beyond the mat to frame the design. Simple blanket stitches were used throughout.
Make lots of these mats in a variety of colors to suit your decor! Use up some of those wool bits in your sewing basket.

You can do this! The simplest of materials and tools
are needed . I use lots of re-claimed wool garnered
from items I find at my local thrift shops.
